My Bio
I am an amature photographer and have also painted with oils and acrylics to a lesser extent. My passion is photography. Like most people I have transitioned from using an SLR film camera to an SLR digital camera. I am on my third digital camera and expect that I will move forward in the future as technology changes, which it does rapidly. I love working with Photoshop and Corel Paint Shop. I have been self taught. My downfall is that I like to try things out first before reading the manuals, like putting the cart before the horse.

I believe that we learn from every picture we create, whether it is good or bad. I like pictures that have creative simplicity. There is nothing more pleasing than a picture that has good perspective, great lines and a focal point. Lighting is of paramount importance to any picture, especially if it is in black and white.

Since I live in western Canada we get wonderful skies, beautiful landscapes so there are endless possibilities here. Many people might think the prairies are boring but that certainly is not the case. There are wonderful opportunities for the photographer, painter or any other artist here.

I love all the seasons for photographing in. Winter can be a bit challenging but it has a beauty all to itself.

My goal is to become a better artist and to progress along with the great opportunities that new technologies offer.

Spring of 2011

0 min read
It is now spring in western Canada and things are starting to grow at last.  Due to the amount of snow fall during the winter many parts of Saskatchewan and Manitoba are flooded which creates a lot of problems.  Fortunately Manitoba has a lot of water controls, especially the Shellmouth dam, the Portage la Prairie and Winnipeg flood diversions.  The Winnipeg floodway is the largest in the world and far surpases the Suez Canal in size and the amount of water it processes. I hope to start producing more photos to post and of course there are always some still to post.  I must admit that I have been lazy in doing this for some time. Many thank
